It's so adorable, when Taemin gets frustrated, Kibum decides. The way his cheeks puff out indignantly, how his eyes widen and narrow at the same time, his lips pouting in a manner that makes them look absolutely sinful on his young, innocent face. Occasionally the other members would encourage him to practice outside of the studio, but they would be met with a blushing huff and an insistence that he needed to keep his dancing skills sharp so that he could help out his hyungs.

So right now, in the dorm while everyone else was out on schedule, Kibum was standing outside of their shared bedroom, ear pressed against the door as he listened to Taemin quietly practicing his scales. He was touched that the maknae was working so hard, but honestly... to do it alone was just silly, when he could ask his band mates for help.

"Minho took my place so I could hang out and clean," Kibum smiled and shut the door behind him, moving over to the bed and sitting on the edge, reaching out to gently touch Taemin's hair and run his fingers through it. "You're practicing really hard, Taeminie."

Taemin nodded, leaning into the protective, gentle touch of Kibum. "I want to improve myself so I don't have to use lip sync so much on stage."

It is in this moment, that for some reason, Kibum's mind flashed back towards quite a few specific moments between himself and Taemin. "Ah~" He started the scale, hitting each pitch perfectly. Jonghyun was their lead vocalist for good reason, but the others weren't far behind him. Jonghyun had a unique voice that attracted all sorts of ears. Even Taemin had a pleasant voice, it just needed to be trained. "Ding, ding." He finished the scale and motioned for Taemin to do the same.

He saw the breath that the boy took in, and immediately stopped him.

"Your breathing is wrong, Taeminie," Kibum amended, motioning towards his own chest. "When you breathe you have to fill up every ounce of free space in your body, so that when you exhale and sing, your voice lasts longer and has a good push behind it." He breathed in to show how both his chest and stomach expanded, and then reached out to press his fingers against Taemin's abdomen gently. "Do what I did."

The maknae's cheeks flushed a delicate pink, and once again Kibum found the boy absolutely endearing. The skin beneath Taemin's shirt was warm, sending slight jolts through Key's fingertips and surging throughout his body. Blinking and licking his lips, Key put on a smile to cover up the sudden dryness in his mouth.

"Come on," umma encouraged, and Taemin sucked in a breath that made his abdomen and chest puff out at the same time. "There you go. Exhale slowly."

The breath whooshed out from Taemin's rosy lips, and Kibum grinned to try and hide his slight discomfort at the thoughts that were starting to form in his head. "Okay!"

Kibum shut the door behind him and leaned against it, the smile falling off of his face. Watching Taemin breathe like that... why had it been so arousing? He hoped that the boy didn't notice his hyungs' slight awkwardness and just brushed it off as him being... Well what the hell, Key was hardly ever awkward, but Taemin seemed to not notice anything out of hand. If he did, he was good at hiding it. Key just hoped that the maknae was too busy focusing on his voice to notice the slight flush that covered Kibum's body.

This... just made a lot things more difficult.

Taemin pranced into the living room, where the rest of the boys were sitting in various spots watching Star King. Kibum and Jonghyun were on the couch, cozy as ever; Minho was in the recliner and Jinki was seated between Minho's legs as the younger gave him a massage. Kibum laughed and tilted his head, opening his arm out to gesture for Taemin to join him and Jonghyun on the couch.

"Taeminie. Busy day?" Kibum asked, and the maknae smiled as he sat on the end of the couch on the other side of his hyung, the younger seemingly buzzing with excitement.

"Yes!" he gushed. Kibum chuckled and sat up some, Jonghyun's arm sliding from around his shoulders and the warmth disappearing. "Manager hyung said that my singing has improved!"

Kibum's features lit up as well, and the other three members turned curious gazes towards the pair.

"That's awesome!" Umma was definitely proud of the youngest member, and he pulled Taemin into a one-armed hug. "We should celebrate!"

"Taemin, did you take more lessons?" Jonghyun asked, curious as he tilted his bleached head.

"Kibum hyung helped me learn some breathing exercises that helped out a lot," Taemin explained, and Kibum blushed slightly as the members all turned their eyes on him.

"What?"

"How cute, mother helping out her son with his school work!" Jonghyun teased, and Kibum instantly flushed and smacked the other on the shoulder.

"Shut up, at least I helped him when he needed it!" Kibum pushed away from Jonghyun. "All of us should have helped him, you know, not just me."

Jinki and Minho looked guilty enough, but Jonghyun merely rolled his eyes.

"Calm down, Kibum. We've all been busy-"

"Too busy to help our maknae?" Kibum snapped.

"Please, don't fight about helping me!" Taemin interrupted and stood up, moving between Kibum and Jonghyun with his hands raised in the air in a placating manner. "I didn't ask anyone for help, so no one should feel guilty about anything." His eyes were pleading. "Hyung, please don't be angry."

Kibum took in a breath, and then turned on his heel.

"Good night."

The rest of the group watched Key storm out of the room, and they all heaved a collective sigh. Umma was best undisturbed when fuming about.

So, it wasn't until a few hours later when Jinki, Jonghyun and Minho decided to go out and get something to eat, leaving Taemin and Kibum alone in the house. Once he was sure everyone was gone, the rapper slid out of their bedroom, clad in his pj pants and an over-sized t-shirt.

"Minnie ah?" He called out, moving into the living room to see the maknae curled up on the couch, watching television.
