CHAPTER ONE
His hand stayed on her hip for just a fraction of a second too long. She knew as she twirled away from him and back flipped that she ought to be grateful for wearing so much make-up on stage because if not he, and everyone else on stage, would definitely be able to see her face flushing bright red. She got back on the main stage and tried to make eye contact with him, not sure to give him a crushing look of discontent or urging him on for more. She missed a few beats and immediately realized that she was in the wrong place, it was only a few steps but she was out of the routine. The music stopped and the floor lights switched on.
“Freeze everybody please,” the choreographer walked on stage with brisk moves. “Abigail, you’re at least two meters of from stage left where you should be, what are you doing?” Abigail cringed as he was the only person on earth to call her by her full name Abigail while everyone else usually called her just Abbi. She shook her head as if to shake the thought of the man behind her from her thoughts and apologized.
“Gary,’ he continued and Abbi felt a tiny sparkle travel up her back, creeping over her shoulders and descending into her fingertips leaving them tingling. Even the mention of his name was enough to bring her out of focus. She shook her head again.

“When you hold Abigail before she goes into the twirl and back flip, you need to let her go earlier, you steel her speed which is why she didn’t get her mark is my guess. Like this.” He pulled Abbi towards him into the finale ten seconds she had just danced with Gary before, he slid his hand onto her hip and even pushed her along into the twirl. She did the back flip and made it to the mark, not missing the silent beats she heard in her head as she danced alone and without music.
“Good, Gary, take my place,” he said as Gary stepped in, his face concentrated and not a trace of mischievous smirk on it. He stood behind her as she did the correct moves, she slid her arms over his arms, bent forward and hooked her legs on his hips as she jumped forward and clung to his body. His hands caught her hips again where they had been before and this time he too gave her speed as he picked her up and pushed her into the twirl that followed the routine. She was afraid her arms would give during the back flip as she had felt the goose bumps rise on her arms the moment her arms had touched Gary’s. She mentally gave herself a stern speech and made it to the mark again in the right position.
“Good, ok one more dry run and then we go into full dress rehearsal!”
Abbi pulled through the dance routine once more and was glad they picked up after her piece with Gary. The second part of the dance was without Gary but she knew he was watching her like a hawk. She nearly laughed out loud when she dropped to the floor only to be caught seconds before hitting the floor by the skilled dancer hands of Howard, he was so much more used to it that it did not feel sensual at all, it felt like great dancing. She lifted her leg and used Howard’s strong arms as a level. They ran to the back of the stage and did the final part of the dance, grouping tightly as the routine required and at the final minute making room for Gary who now rejoined the group to finish the dance. As he stepped into the group when they made room and quickly closed the gap again around him she felt herself press herself up against him a little too closer than necessary. Making sure he caught her hot and fast breath in his neck. As the foursome finally walked away from the group, his hand used her upper leg for leverage, letting one finger just trail a little higher as he left the dancers.
As the four men fell to their knees in front of her and the music died out the lights came on again.
“Ok, we leave Sure for the full dress rehearsals, this is going fine, have something to eat we start at 8 sharp!” Abbi checked her watch, that gave them about forty minutes. She gulped down some water and saw that the other four nearly collapsed on the floor regaining their breath. Some other dancers noticed too, the boys were getting old and this fierce routine was heavy on them. She smirked at Gary as he walked past, his eyes flashed at her. The cheeky glimmer she had seen so often these weeks.
It had started the moment she had come in to audition for the show, the four men plus their tour manager and choreographer had sat behind a desk calling out numbers. When you’re number was called out you needed to leave. It was the same routine she had just been dancing, Give Good Feeling with the male dancers that had already been cast. They only needed a few more dancers and Abbi knew she was ready and fit to get the job. As she had done the back flip for the first time and thrust her legs upwards while hanging upside down with Ciaran holding her, her eyes had locked with Gary and she had seen she had caught his eye. The room had felt a few degrees warmer and she had felt how cold sweat started to trickle down her back. She had danced for him and only for him the rest of the day, it had been Gary that had given her the contract for the tour immediately after the auditions. She was the only one from that day that actually made it in the crew of the Take That tour.
The first weeks of preparation the dances had been without Take That actually being present, they rehearsed the dances to perfection until they were ready to dance with the boys. Four female dancers were coupled with one of the boys, so they always had the same partner to dance with to make things more comfortable. She never knew if it had been Gary that had asked to dance with Abbi or if it had been the choreographer who had made the decision. The first time she knew that there was some sort of chemistry between them was when she rehearsed Could It Be Magic for the first time with all props, which meant the piano. She danced on the piano for the first part and as she performed her ballet moves on pointes on the white piano as Gary sat at it and sang he had not taken his eyes from her one second. When the dance ended and Gary was supposed to lift her off the piano, he had quickly trailed his hands up her body and whispered in her ear “You are so sexy when you dance on my piano”. The moment was so quick she thought for a moment she had hallucinated as he turned his back on her and continued the show. She had felt his hands upon her hours after that.
Rushing to the dressing rooms which she shared with two other dancers, she saw that neither of them where there and closed the door behind her. Her make-up and hair was done for the first song and she only needed to change her Adidas track bottoms and white top for a more skimpy outfit. She kicked off her comfortable training shoes and massaged her feet quickly, preparing them for two hours of full on dancing in high heels and pointe shoes. She did some quick stretches and ate an orange. She contemplated a quick jump under the cold shower as her stomach still tingled and clenched from the constant teasing touches of Gary and wondered how she was going to survive the actual tour when things had already gotten this out of control and they hadn’t even started.
A soft knock on the door announced a visitor. Abbi knew who it was before she opened the door.
Abbi opened the door to find Gary standing in front of her. “You alone?” he asked with a low voice that made Abbi grip the door a little tighter. She cleared her throat and forgot to speak when she nodded. He came in her dressing room, closing and locking the door behind him. Wearing a blue v-neck shirt that hugged his newly toned body Abbi swallowed and tore her eyes away from his torso only to completely drown in his eyes that seemed to switch from light blue to pale grey. She backed away as he approached her. The chair in front of the make-up table stopped her from going any further.
Gary lifted his hand and touched the long black hair that fell down her back. “You look even more attractive with the dark hair,” his voice sounded confident. She followed his hand to the wig she was wearing, hiding her nearly white blonde hair. “You are the biggest tease,” she told him her voice not sounding as confident as did his. “Oh really,” he faked his surprise closing the distance even more until his hip touched hers and a wave of lust rolled through her body. She grabbed hold of the chair behind her. “Abbi, I think you are the biggest tease here, have you ever taken a good look at yourself?” He turned her round and now pinned her against the chair while his hips brushed her bottom. He had to bend forward to be able to look in the mirror with her and as he did so, she bent with him. She felt his warm breath in her ear as he whispered behind her “look, you are so gorgeous. ” She saw her own face, dark smokey eyes of the already applied make-up gave her a mysterious glance. He kept her eyes locked with his as he slowly reached behind her ear with his mouth. His tongue tasted her lightly salted skin and the action made Abbi quiver inside. Closing her eyes she shivered and she pressed up against him. His mouth was painting light kisses in her neck and when Abbi moved her bum towards him a guttural moan escaped his lips. She felt him harden against her back. Still bend forward, Gary’s hands started exploring her body, they moved up from her upper legs, to the tickly parts of her sides, sliding underneath her white top and as his breath heated her neck his hands finally cupped her breasts. Through the fabric of her sports bra he must be able to feel her lust.
All the barriers seemed to be torn down in her head and Abbi turned around, stepping forward as she pressed herself up against him. Leaving room for the chair to be removed, she pushed it to the side and pulled Gary with her as she sat down on her make-up table. She quickly wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled his face towards her lips, pressing her hips against his groin. A new growl rose from his throat as their bodies made contact and Abbi felt his warm breath on her lips as he exhaled.
They looked into each other’s eyes, breathing heavily. Both waiting for the other person to make the first move. His hands on her back moved lower to her bum and Gary pressed her even closer to him, now it was Abbi’s turn to sigh with lust over the friction this created between them. One hand on her lower back and the other moving to her neck guiding her head towards him he finally placed his lips on her. Immediately opening her mouth Abbi gave access to his exploring tongue. White flashes danced before her eyes and she felt how his two day stubble rubbed against her skin.
She nearly cried out when he broke the kiss.
“Make sure you save some energy after the show. ” His cheeky eyes took her in and he unwrapped her legs from his waist, using all resources not to tear her clothes off of her right there and then.
That’s how he left her, hot and flustered with five minutes to go before a full dress rehearsal was about to take place.
