Five words, were all they were, five words he could not believe he had just let escape from his mouth. Taylor Hanson looked at his older brother in fear; he felt sick to his stomach as he clasped his hand over his mouth and ran to the pool house out back. Taylor began to sob as he sank in the floor in a near by corner.
Out of all the things for him to just confess why that? He had fought for years not to tell him, it was wrong he knew it was. Nevertheless, he did not care as lately, it had become so over whelming he would cry at the sheer thought of it, and then he had so carelessly said the words.
He was clueless as to what Isaac would do to him now; he more than anything had wished what he had said was untrue. However, it was not. He was in love with his brother, it was forbidden by every law of nature and everything holy. That one thought sent a chill up his spine, if he thought Isaac would be hard to face then what in gods name was he going to do if his parents found out.
Taylor flinched when he felt a gentle touch on his shoulder, he knew who it was but was still scared to look at him. He was waiting for anger and disgust to fill the small room in the form of screaming, but surprised by the gentle voice he had heard since he was little.
“Tay, come here, its ok” Isaac said trying to take his brother in his embrace, but Taylor only fought him.
“Taylor, I’m not mad, a little shocked yeah but I promise you I’m not mad.” Isaac said as the 14-year-old gave in, Isaac taking him into his arms as he still sobbed. It was killing him, but in a way he was ecstatic, for the past three years he had felt the same way. He sat there in the floor hushing the sobbing teen in his arms. Then Taylor said the words, the words Isaac knew were a lie right at the first calmed breath.
“I didn’t mean it Ike.” Taylor said as he started to cry again. Isaac just shushed him as he softly petted him. Discover Taylor hated telling lies it was the most pointless thing a human could do, the truth would always eventually. Isaac pulled him away; it was time for him to confess too.
“I’m in love with you too.” Isaac said wiping away the tears as their eyes locked. Taylor smiled; Isaac smiled back as he leaned in softly kissing Taylor, the kiss he had dreamed about for years. Soft, delicate, yet powerful all in the same sense, He helped Taylor from the floor still wrapped in his arms, Isaac lightly kissed Taylor’s forehead as he rested his head against his chest, he finally felt human, like he could show who he was to the one who needed to see it.

Taylor closed his eyes as they still stood there that one moment wrapping tightly in memory with the sound of Isaac’s heartbeat. He didn’t know how they were going to keep this together or secret but every moment they had alone would be devoted to him and this.

“I’ve waited so long to tell you the truth Tay, I really have.” Isaac said Taylor pulled away looking up at him. He was speechless to respond as Isaac softly caressed his cheek Taylor nuzzled at the touch. Isaac leaned in kissing him again as Taylor’s arms slipped around his neck.

Isaac chuckled as he pulled away, wrapping his arms around his brothers slender waist. If this was how 1998 was starting, it was going to be one amazing year.
