Prologue:
This is a fairytale (well, sortta), so I will start it like how all fairytales before it (and most likely after it as well) would have started, with: Once upon a time…
"WAH~!"
The cry of the newborn prince was…loud, and the continued wailing was amplified by the natural acoustics of the throne room, causing all the guests present at the Prince's christening to cringe at the abuse of their poor ears. But this was a small sacrifice to pay for the miracle of the birth of the new heir---
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAH~!"
Or so they thought…
"Shinya! Will you shut the little fucker up already??" King Yoshiki bellowed, hands busy plugging up his already ringing ears. His little damn bundle of joy has been crying non-stop since 2 in the morning.
"Yoshiki! Watch your mouth when you're talking around our baby!" Queen-- er…King.. Shinya screamed back at his husband. "And why do I have to shut him up? It's YOUR turn!"
"Well, this was YOUR idea!" Yoshiki yelled back, but making his way to the wailing bundle nonetheless. "Besides, WHY do we have to invite fairies to the christening???" Yoshiki demanded., picking up the young prince.
"Because, Yoshiki dear," Shinya replied, sounding MUCH calmer now that the little brat.. erm--baby ^^;;… has quieted in his father's arms. "This is tradition! I've been blessed by fairies, my mother's been blessed by fairies, my grandmother's been blessed by fairies… well, except in her case, we learned to NOT forget a fairy… But that's beside the point. The point is, every child from my family have been blessed by fairies at birth, therefore MY child will be as well."
"But, you didn't even give birth to him!" Yoshiki exclaimed, which earned him a death glare from his mate, and a collective gasp of shock from his guests. "Don't worry," Yoshiki explained while rolling his eyes at the court. "The brat's legitimate: some stupid stork dropped the pest on us when Shinya and I were --ACK!"
Yoshiki's explanation was cut short by Shinya's perfectly aimed drumstick. "I think you all got my lord's point?" the slender man ground out behind a forced smile, glaring at the gaping guests.
Agreements were mumbled from the crowd gathered, and Shinya was pleased, though Yoshiki wasn't as he rubbed at the spot where Shinya's drumstick connected with is head.
"So where are the damn fairies anyways?" Yoshiki demanded again, cranky from being hit by his mate in front of his court.
Suddenly, the throne room doors were thrown open with a BANG and a flurry of fairies fluttered in straight toward the newborn, causing a great cloud of fairy-dust to rise around the King and his son.
"Aa~…Get---"
"Oh! What an adorable little boy he is!" the fairies squealed collectively.
"AAA~…Get a-away---!"
"Look at his pudgy, wittle, cheeks!" one fairy exclaimed loudly, pinching said cheeks, oblivious to the fact that King Yoshiki was trying to say something and that she had just made the young prince cry…again.
"GET THE FUCK AWAA.. AHHHH-CHOO!" Yoshiki finally sneezed out his command, causing all the little fairies to jump away startled. "GODDAMMIT! Everyone KNOWS I'm allergic to the stupid sparkly fairy-dusts!" the King continued to complain loudly, trying to make himself heard over his son's wailing.
"YOSHIKI!" came Shinya's shrill warning. "One more vulgard…!rd…!" the auburn-haired beauty continued, letting his threat hang unfinished. "Now, put the baby back in his crib so we can get going with the blessing," Shinya commanded.
Mumbling a few choice words under his breath, King Yoshiki did as his husband commanded and replaced the screaming baby into his crib. Then, reseated on his throne beside his lovely Shinya, Yoshiki glared at the fairies and yelled, "Get on with it already!" (He was still trying to make himself heard over his wailing son. ^^;;…)
At the command, the fairies all scrambled to give the new prince the usual blessings: tall, brave, handsome, good fortune, beautiful bride, fame, safety and security, etc. etc., until all of the fairies present blessed the baby prince with everything anyone could ever dream of. Everyone was happy (well, except for the baby prince himself since he was still crying his head off) with the results of the christening, especially King Shinya.
"Well, everyone! Now we feast in celebration of the many blessings of my son!" the auburn-haired ruler declared merrily. But the responding cheer was cut short when a blue swirl forced its way through the crowds and stopped abruptly in front of the royal family, revealing in the blue dusty midst a beautiful blue-haired figure… who stumbled gracelessly to regain his balance.
"Sorry I'm late," the blue-haired man said, once his world stopped spinning he he's regained his footing. "I wanted to fix my crooked teeth before I came, but I couldn't find the damn spell for it," he explained.
"Who the hell are you?" Shinya demanded, forgetting his own rule about proper language in front of his son.
"I'm the fairy Toshiya!" the blue-haired fairy-man introduced with a slight bow and a bright smile.
"And you're LATE to MY SON'S christening?!" Shinya screeched angrily.
"Sheesh, I said I'm sorry already!" Toshiya apologized again. "Here, I'll make it up to you: give me a list of what your son's been blessed with already and I PROMISE to give him a blessing that'll top ALL that's already been given him."
At such a claim, the rest of the fairies started to complain about the haughtiness of Toshiya, but was silenced by a glare from Shinya.
"A blessing that can top ALL the rest?" Shinya questioned, doubtful yet interested.
"Othe the best for Your Majesty's child!" Toshiya grinned.
"Shinya, don't you think our son's had enough blessings already?" Yoshiki hissed.
"You be quiet!" Shinya hissed back, shooting his husband another withering glare.
"Well, your decision, Your Majesty?"
"We accept," Shinya answered be Yoe Yoshiki could utter another word. "But I'm warning you, it better be good!"
"Of course!" the blue-haired fairy reassured, smiling a little too eagerly for Yoshiki's taste.
"I have a bad feeling about this," he mumbled to himself as Shinya handed Toshiya the requested list.
"Oh! Oh MY!" Toshiya exclaimed as he went down the list, eyes widening as if in horror.
"What?" Yoshiki immediately asked, he was never comfortable with the whole fairy-blessing thing to begin with. "What wrong?"
"What's wrong?" Toshiya repeated. "This," he continued, shaking the long list in a frustrated manner, "This is what's wrong! What have you allowed to be done to your poor son???"
Aat aat accusation, Shinya and Yoshiki could only gape at Toshiya in bewilderment, which only caused the blue-haired fairy to roll his eyes in exasperation.
"With all these," the fairy explained, shaking the list again in emphasis, "you're son's life is RUINED!"
"But they're all GOOD blessing! TRADITIONAL blessings!" one of the first fairies defended indignantly.
"Exactly!" Toshiya cried out. "How boring is that!
"But don't worry Your Majesties," Toshiya continued, now speaking to the royal couple, "I'll fix the problem right up." Then, Toshiya turned to the newborn prince and said: "You, Prince Tooru, shall be ordinary!" and whacked the baby prince with his blue fairy-wand, thus making good the blessing… and effectively shutting up the brat as well. When the deed was done, Toshiya disappeared with a sparkly blue puff, leaving behind the horrified guests, a wailing Queen Shinya, and King Yoshiki muttering "I KNEW this was a bad idea."
