There are some point of views problems. Sometimes you shifted tenses in one sentence. I adore Eddie Izzard and the way you characterized him just didn't ring true. There just isn't any spark. I felt the character of Amy was completely predictable, a character that has been done before over and over. The story did get better half way through when the tense wasn't changing around so badly. Or if it was, I stopped noticing as much. It could be a whole lot better if you figure out in which tense you want it to be in, past or present.
