The trouble with unfaithful lovers
A few days later David and Billie met up with Chris and Kate for lunch. It was the first time in months that the either pair had had the chance to just sit back and relax. Chris was not due to start his most recent project for another month, while Kate was taking a break, but would start filming her latest movie at the end of the month. David and Billie were free until the end of May, when they would be filming a movie made for TV together, the Writer being Russell.
David had talked his mother that morning and he had told her part of what had happened. His mother had insisted he come home for a couple of weeks and bring Billie with him. She also agreed he could bring Chris and Kate if he wanted to. David told her he would ask Billie, Chris and Kate if they fancied getting away from it all for a couple of weeks.
So there sat the four friends. David told them. “Listen, I was wondering if the three of you fancied spending the next couple of weeks in my home town.” He continued after taking a drink of his coffee “My parents are fine with it, but they want to know tonight weather you are coming or not, so they can get a room set up for you.”
Kate asked “Are sure they have the room?” David nodded “It’s a three bedroom house.” Billie frowned and asked. “Wait a minute, three bedrooms. If there are only three bedrooms then where would I sleep? Naturally your parents will be in one room. Then Chris and Kate will be in the second, which only leaves one remaining room.”
David laughed nervously before clearing his throat, and commenting. “Yeah, about that, you see my mum and dad suspected you would take my room.” Chris suddenly smirked finally seeing where this was going. “And where would you sleep David? If there is only three rooms and Kate and I will definitely being sharing, as will your parents. Where does that leave you?”
David flushed slightly “It will leave my childhood bedroom. My mum and dad trust me to share with Billie. They have no idea things have shifted in mine and Billie’s relationship.” Billie also flushed and said “It’s fine with me. Seeing as we agreed we would be taking whatever is happening between you and I one step at a time. Naturally nothing will happen under your parent’s roof and in your child hood bedroom.”
Chris shook his head and added “Geez, I can’t get over the fact you two have started something between you, no matter how slowly you plan on taking things. It’s about bloody time if you ask me.” Kate nodded in agreement, smirking as she did.
David shook his head and said “We aren’t ready for anything to huge at the moment. Not after what happened with Sophia and Orlando so soon afterwards.” He added “Plus there is Billie’s pregnancy to think of. She does not need the stress of starting a new relationship.”
Billie nodded in agreement and said “Exactly. All we do know is that we are more then just friends. We plan to take things as they come. If in a couple of months we decided to become more serious, then we will.” David grinned and asked “So are you lot in. Do fancy meeting my parents and spending a couple of weeks in my home town just relaxing?”
Chris nodded and replied “Sounds great, I’m up for it. What about you Kate do you fancy the idea of a mini holiday with Billie and David?” Kate nodded and said “Yeah. It sounds like fun. I could do with a break. It will be nice to get away from the media attention for a couple of weeks.”
They all turned to face Billie waiting for her answer. She shrugged “Sure why not? It will be nice to meet the two who brought up this daft softy.”
David mocked scowled “Daft softy am I?” Billie smirked and replied “Do you really want or need me to answer that?” David playfully pouted in reply.
Chris and Kate had to hide their knowing smiles. The couple were prefect for each other.
